New Year’s Day brings an unusual Heavenly event, and the beginning of Big Change. We have a New Moon on the same morning! That hasn’t occurred in a Very Long time, as you might imagine. But there are some things that make it Much More Unusual.
As with all New Moons, as they grow in size (until they are Full Moons) so will new beginnings for each of us, grow larger like a seed that will sprout. New Moons bring in new opportunities for new beginnings once a month, every month of every year, and this Moon starts growing smack dab, first thing in the morning Jan. 1. Not only does that assist us in sprouting our New Year’s resolutions beginning right away, no waiting ‘lines,’ but there’s more. The news just gets bigger.
To set the stage, I’ll remind you of a few things. The Moon circles the zodiac once a month; the Sun once a year. Mercury and Venus are similar to completing one cycle in one year. Mars takes 2 years. Then there are the planets that take longer, like Jupiter which takes 12 years, all the way out to Pluto’s 248 years. But the Moon and the Sun meet up in the sky ‘for coffee and conversation’ once each month; and we call it a New Moon event.
This New Moon occurs in the zodiac placement of Capricorn so we are beginning new traits and characteristics that resonate with Capricorn. That includes the structure and bones of who we are. It covers traditions and the way things have always been…so usually once a year we build new structures that we can depend upon. Capricorn works hard and this New Moon will be a whopper of new design if you work it.
Because the outer planets take So long to make one complete cycle around the zodiac, when they make a geometrical aspect to other heavenly bodies, their effect is heard round the world, let’s say. These are the big spenders with the big stakes. This New Moon brings us not just one powerful aspect, mind you, but a bowl-ful go along with this Lunation Jan. 1. Not your usual football game in the local park, this is Superbowl.
The geometrical aspects that occur with our heavenly planetary bodies that same morning, are spoon-bending, mind-bending, life bending. Things will be a popping in January and will show up again with more results in April!! We have the four action-starter zodiac signs making a square aspect to each other like on the 3 bases and home plate of baseball. The bases are loaded, there are no ‘outs,’ a home run is happening and the score changes dramatically. You are part of that major event. Pluto has exposed to us for years what old traditions are outdated, broken down and need major overhaul. Now it begins building state-of-the-art.
Uranus in Aries is about shaking up the status quo and starting over, asking who am I, who do I want to be and giving us courage to build a new and better identity. Mars in Libra gives us the motivation and energy to get ‘er done with beauty, grace, building better relationships. Jupiter in Cancer brings a higher mind, expansion and blessings to family, home and countries, setting a new stage to nurture and protect our earth home. These planets in a square means there’s no way out of the box. It must be done (on earth as it is in heaven.) Resistance isn’t in our best interests, right?
You’ve likely been thinking a lot for some time about what you would like to happen in your life. Well the universe always listens and I hope it has been positive and empowering because you get what you believe. Now is the time to focus strongly, speak it, write it, feel it passionately. Do it!
I know someone who feels this could be the time for healing from a long-term challenging health issue, another who has just made a decision to prepare her path ahead to eventually leave a relationship that has been loveless from the start, as well as demeaning; ready to leap, opening to her personal power to make way for potential joys. Another person is going to fulfill a lifetime dream that takes great endurance. These are not just changing a hairstyle or moving to a new apartment episodes.
Work it, work it, work it. Keep negative thoughts at bay always, but especially now. The cornerstones are shifting and you will have a new view. Don’t be sidetracked by any other change you hear about; it’s all about YOU.
