Hamilton restores WWII cannon1 min read

Dan Hamilton, a local gun store owner in West Sedona, stands next to his 1943 German Panzerabwehrkanone 40 75 mm anti-tank gun on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at his shop. The cannon was restored by the Hamiltons in a year-long project. This is the only functioning model of the cannon in the country. More than 23,500 were in use between 1942 and 1945.

Not many small towns can boast having a piece of heavy artillery, but Sedona can.

Dan Hamilton, who owns a local gun store with his two sons, Patrick and Matthew, has been restoring a 75 mm Panzerabwehrkanone 40, a World War II-era German anti-tank cannon.

While lawmakers in many states have passed restrictions on gun possession and federal regulations have at one time or another banned certain types of firearms, many people are unaware of how far they can exercise their Second Amendment right to bear arms in Arizona.
