Music Rock Class ‘turns it up to 11’1 min read

Kathy Perry helps Adam Koster get the right opening keyboard sequence for the song “Stonehenge” from the 1984 mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” that his band will perform Wednesday, March 5, at Sedona Performing Arts Center. Perry is an Artist in the Classroom who traveled with Spinal Tap in Boston on tour after the filming of the movie.

Classical music isn’t the only thing happening at Sedona Red Rock High School band classes.

The high school also has a Music Rock Class, which runs until the end of the school year and is part of the Artist in the Classroom series. The guest artist for the class is Kathy Perry.

Kathy Perry, a local music store owner, has an extensive background in rock music, having backed up bands such as Foghat, The Ramones and Spinal Tap.
