A lopsided opening shutout loss brought the Sedona FC Strikers back to earth Friday, May 16.

The three-time defending women’s soccer league champion Los Angeles Blues scored four first-half goals on the way to handing Sedona’s first professional sports team a 9-0 loss in front of a crowd of more than 400 fans for their opening game at Sedona Red Rock High School.

“In 90 minutes, we gave about 20 minutes,” Strikers head coach Manny Arias said. “After that, we were just chasing the ball around the field.”
