Eduardo Jimenez
Senior Cross Country Runner
Where are you from?
Sedona.
What sports do you do?
Cross country and track and field.
Which one is your favorite? Why?
Track and field. It gives me more motivation to run faster because we’re always on a track going left all the time. It just feels good in general.
What’s the worst part?
The workouts, the harder workouts when you have to run for a certain time.
Do you have any favorite sports teams or athletes?
I’m really looking up to one runner named Mo Farah.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not playing sports?
Usually just hanging out with friends, playing video games or going out to dinner with my family.
Favorite television show?
When I was a kid I liked “Courage the Cowardly Dog.”
Favorite food?
I would say those really good tacos asada. Carne asada.
What do you aspire to be when you’re older?
I want to be a computer engineer to help people fix their computers and build my own. If not then maybe I could do something with my running.
What kind of valuable lessons has playing sports taught you?
That putting in hard work really makes a big difference. If you really lack on your work you won’t improve anything.
Who’s been the most influential person in your life?
I would say my mom. She told me to always not give up on what I want to do. Always put more work into what’s more important.
Do you have a memorable race in your career?
During track season at our home meet we won at least three races, two seconds and one first. Getting first place in the Yavapai County Championships my sophomore year, that was a really big step for me.
