Nate Ross
Freshman Utility Player

Where are you from?
I’m from here; born here and raised here. Well, not raised, — I moved back here.

When did you move back? From where?
Second grade, I’m from Gila Bend.

What sports do you play?
Just baseball.

When did you start playing?
When I was really young. I think I started when I was in kindergarten and played from tee ball all the way up.

What’s your favorite sports team and/or athlete?
I like the D-Backs a lot … On that team my favorite person is Paul Goldschmidt.

Dream job?
Probably working on my family’s ranch, or running it.

Favorite class in school?
Math.

Describe your coach in one word.
I’d say passionate. He really likes to win.

What makes a good teammate?
Having that team aspect, not doing it all for their numbers. Trying to help the team other than just themselves.

What are the benefits of playing high school sports?
I guess being around a team and it just kind of gives you some community. The experience of it too is kind of nice, it opens your eyes to some new things.

What’s your most memorable sports moment so far?
My first home run in Little League.

What are your future goals?
I don’t know, make money.

What do you like the most about high school versus junior high?
I think it’s the competitiveness of the sport and all the other players because it’s just more intense up here. There’s more games to play, more people to face and it’s just kind of more fun.
