A fire caused $100,000 damage to a home on Calle del Norte on Sunday, April 22, according to Sedona Fire District Public Information Officer Gary Johnson.
The fireplace caused the attic to catch fire, Johnson said, but flames didn?t spread far.
?Primarily, the fire was contained to the attic,? Johnson said.
Crews responded to the structure fire at 2:52 p.m. and put it out before it spread to other areas of the house.
Smoke filled the house and caused some additional damage.
Johnson said firefighters attacked the blaze both from above and below by punching through the roof and ceiling.
Crews continued to ?pull ceiling,? or peel back layers of material, until there was no visible fire, according to Johnson. This resulted in additional damage.
